Yes. Child seats and booster seats can only be fitted to the forward-facing seats in the rear (behind the driver). Child restraints must be pre-booked.

All children aged seven years and under must travel in an approved child restraint. The type of restraint required for your child depends on their age as follows:

  • Children aged under six months must travel in an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear-facing child restraint. It is recommended children remain rear-facing up to 12 months of age as they cannot turn forward-facing until their shoulders reach the entry level height marker on the restraint. An anchor point is required for this seat.
  • Children aged between six months and under four years must travel in an approved, properly fastened         and adjusted, rear-facing child restraint OR a forward-facing child restraint with an in-built harness         (the child’s shoulders must reach the minimum height marker before facing-forward). An anchor point is         required for this seat.
  • Children aged between four years and seven years must travel in an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, forward-facing child restraint with an in-built harness OR an approved booster seat which is properly positioned and fastened with a standard lap-sash seatbelt. The booster seat provided may feature a top tether strap that needs to be fitted to an anchor point.
  • An adult lap-sash seatbelt is designed for people with a minimum height of 145cm. A child should continue using a forward-facing restraint or booster seat until they have outgrown it.

All child restraints must comply with current Australia/New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS 1754). It is the responsibility of the guest to fit the seat in the vehicle.

Vehicles fit a maximum of two child restraints of any type (for vehicles where child restraints can be fitted).

Child or booster seats are not permitted on the front passenger seat or the rear-facing seats of any vehicle.
